The good light ambiance in Ahora – good light is important not just for me, as someone who shoots food for the blog but for anyone who consumes a beautifully arranged dish, since it is preferable to see the colors: how they combine, how they contrast, how they nuance in the different textures plated;
…. Beautiful dishes, with a brilliant presentation for the holiday;
…. The white cream soup of asparagus, which was artistically disposed with several green leaves and the purple lavender infusion;
…. The contrast between the crispy crust outside and the soft consistency inside of the cheese ball in tabule salad with quinoa, saffron and mint- what a nice start to the evening!
…. The crunchy beetroot, shaped like small cones, breadfruit chips in the salad- a wonderful tease with the senses in the first dish, against the background of the perfectly cooked quinoa, in which each grain stood out;
…. The ethereal texture of cotton candy in the dessert, an airy caramel puff on the chocolate.
…. Famous pieces in jazz arrangement, I heard them in a new reinvented way, especially I was surprised how well can sound jazz arrangement on Pink Floyd.
…. The citrus aroma of the dressing in the salad, accompanied by a gentle breath of saffron and mint;
…. Caramel from cotton candy, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry- the perfect harmony between favorite fragrances in dessert.
…. Salmon with perfect softness and texture, on a very gentle lotus and cauliflower cream-partnering with slightly crunchy linguini of zucchini, red beet chunks and foam and fresh green, crumbled pistachio;
…. Finally, a mix of several cheeses, served with fruit, quince jelly, walnuts and honey with herbs- nothing has been omitted from the beginning to the end!
What better place for the holiday, on which I always think about the necessity for equal treatment of women, than a restaurant with a female Chef. And not just any one, but Sevda-the MasterChef of Bulgaria, vegetarian, who cooks perfectly, not only vegetarian dishes, but also meat.
Sevda had done great work to make hers and all other women holiday at her venue, as she had written on the menu, mysterious, loving, feminine, passionate and subtle. She came to us at the end of the dinner and greeted her guests, slightly shy and uneasy by the attention she immediately gathered. We welcomed her eagerly, because instead of celebrating, she had invested all her attention to make the celebration of others unforgettable. She promised to keep always best quality in the restaurant as it is now. I trust her and in the future, I plan to visit her restaurant on holidays, workdays, or any time I want to eat delicious and exquisite food.
By the way, Ahora was nominated for Restaurant of the year 2018 contest of Bacchus magazine.
