BISTRELLO- DELICIOUS RELAXATION IN THE CENTER OF SOFIA, BULGARIA
Rating for Bistrello in Sofia by the 5D Sensograph of placescases.com: 5 out of 5.
Last visit in February 2018.
See ….
…. A style that corresponds with the history of Sofia and the abundance of historical remains of Roman times – the white bricks, the frames in which the husked wall is art, the pottery, as if it was dug from the ground just now, walls seemed to be cracked by old age;
…. Beautiful presentation in the dishes- a combination of colors, which is a delight for the eye!
…. Decorations at the tables.
Feel ….
…. Friendly service – they do not intrude, but their work conscientiously and with desire to make your stay with them to be comfortable and enjoyable.
Hear ….
…. Pleasant soul and jazz.
Smell ….
…. Exotic spices in Lebanese kjofta kebab – I really liked it, if you’re into Arabic cuisine, I recommend;
…. Fragrance of Baileys, ginger aroma in home ice cream- variety of superb ice cream balls!;
…. Strawberry fragrance in an amazing combination with white chocolate in the eponymous dessert, with added on top for opulence roasted almonds.
Taste ….
…. Again I mention Kjofta kebab- it is very tasty;
…. Salmon Tartar, which is served with brown bread with leaven, eggs, rings of red onion, capers and butter with herbs- a wonderful appetizer, goes great with white wine;
… Veal tongue in butter and chili– served with potato salad with mustard, which is not inferior to it at all, and with pickles on the side- very delicious!;
… The white fish was very highly appreciated by the children, and for the shrimp we almost had a fight, who more to eat 😊;
…. Speaking of children, French fries are wonderful!- crispy and tasty;
…. Dessert white chocolate with strawberry foam- very well balanced as a taste.
I’m a little unfair to Bistrello because I didn’t publish a review right after my first visit in December 2017. Now after the second I need to write about them already.
A great place in the center of Sofia, but not in the busiest area on Vitosha str. but on the parallel to the latter, named Boris str.. The restaurant is small, so make your reservation if you decide to go there. I used the platform DineOut to make one.
The team of chief Miroslav Todorov cooks very tasty food with attention to details. He is a graduate of the HRC- Culinary Academy, based in Sofia, about which I wrote some time ago and in particular about its demonstration restaurant Talents. You can read more about it in one of my older reviews here. Chef Todorov has continued the development of culinary skills at restaurants in the USA, Holland, Germany, Norway. In 2012 he won the prize “Young Chef” at the annual awards “Restaurant of the Year” by magazine “Bacchus”.
I like the way Chef Todorov experiments. The dishes are traditional, and somehow they are modern, but without losing the connection with the basic idea and taste, as sometimes it gets in the gourmet. The whole family loved the cuisine and the service there!
We’re going visit Bistrello in Sofia and take some friends with us. I recommend this restaurant to all visitors of Sofia and not only for families and friends, but for business meetings as well.
