I’ve passed many times by Franco’s pizzeria but never paid enough attention to notice it. It does not make any special impression on the outside. There are no tables and chairs in front, since they serve customers only indoors. But friends told me not to miss it next time, because according to them, these are the most delicious pizzas in Sofia. I decided to check and…. Read further what I found out.
See ….
…. The space is small, with only 6-7 tables;
…. The slogan of the menu: “Pizza as it should be!” And it is so;
…. It can be seen that the pizzas are prepared in a wood fired oven, and it is also written that they are made of 3 types of dough;
The characteristic of the wood fired oven is that the pizzas become more fragrant, retain the nutrients of the products better and are cooked faster than in other ovens. A pizza can be ready in 1 to 3 minutes. The dough is baked evenly and becomes crispy at the end. Once you have tried a pizza in such an oven, you decide that you only want to eat this type.
…. There is a “reserve” sign on all tables;
…. There is also a phone on the menu for orders, but they do not deliver, you can just go and get your pizzas when they are ready.
Feel ….
…. The waiters are kind;
…. Card payments are no accepted, which surprises me unpleasantly every time I find out.
Hear ….
…. What else but Italian music.
Movie watching time: 1:17 min.
Smell ….
…. The pizzas smell divine – each product has a unique aroma of fresh and baked, the smells of the dough makes you salivate.
Taste ….
…. Each of the pizzas is great, but if you’re a carnivore, be sure to try Tre Carne, which means “three meats.” It contains prosciutto cotto, pancetta (the famous Italian bacon), which is wonderfully baked and smells unique, spicy Napoli salami. Margarita and Capricciosa are no less delicious.
…. There is Italian wine, but only in large bottles and only 3 types. By glass they have only Bag in Box by Medi Valley and honestly, I regretted not drinking beer.
This led to the loss of half a heart. The restaurant has quite a customers’ traffic and I see no problem to open a bottle and serve quality wine by glass.
I came to the conclusion that there is no emphasis on alcohol, there is no variety in salads (only 2 are available) and desserts (only 1 one and it is Nutella pizza), so that people do not stay too much and leave fast. In this way more customers will rotate and they will sell more pizza. It is something like a hybrid between fast food and restaurant but with high quality food.
It was worth a stop at Franco’s Pizza because the pizzas are really worth it. I would gladly come back again, albeit briefly and quickly.
I just add that without a reservation you have a chance to sit there only at 3 pm, as we did, and the maximum stay they give you is an hour and a half.
