From the street, you step straight into an antechamber that looks more like the entrance to a bank or some old institution than a typical rental apartment. It immediately creates curiosity and a slight feeling that the place has its own story.

After the antechamber, you enter a huge dining room, and from there you go directly into the living room. The apartment has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a living room, a large dining room and a kitchen. For a group of 5 people, this is a serious advantage, because no one feels squeezed into small rooms or common areas.

… Modern art, panels, paintings and statuettes.
Meliora Apartments, Liberty20 is not a generic apartment with only the most basic furniture. Typical of the Italian sense of design, there are modern panels and paintings on the walls, statuettes, a piano in the living room and a very tiny balcony that is more of a charming detail than a real place to sit. The modern wall panel in the living room is interesting and gives the place individuality, although for us it also came with one downside, which I will mention below.

The takeaway: visually, the apartment wins with space, character and an unconventional feel. This is not just a place to sleep, but an apartment with enough individuality to remember it.

… Real hospitality and attention to the guest.
This was one of the strongest advantages of our stay. Whatever we asked the host for, he responded quickly and helped. He welcomed us personally, explained everything important about the apartment and responded adequately to our needs. He even helped us find transport for our one-day wine tour to Franciacorta at a reasonable price, which turned out to be very valuable because other offers were much more expensive or had unclear terms.

… Convenience for a larger group.
The apartment is very suitable for 5 people, and depending on the layout, it can also be comfortable for more guests. The 3 bathrooms are a huge advantage when traveling as a group. This saves waiting, morning organization and small inconveniences that can otherwise disrupt the rhythm of a short trip.

… Luxurious spaciousness of the rooms.
Every room is large, the shared spaces are wide, and even the kitchen, although not the largest room, was completely comfortable for our group. There is enough space to leave your luggage, move around freely and not feel like you are staying in a typical narrow city apartment.

The location is very convenient – a step away from the main shopping street and not too far from the funicular to Città Alta. You can reach it on foot in about 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace. This makes the apartment a good choice if you want to stay in the more practical part of Bergamo, while still having easy access to the historic city.

… Comfort and a well-equipped apartment.
Meliora Apartments, Liberty20 is equipped with all kinds of dishes and appliances. The pillows, duvets and towels were soft and comfortable. The TV is smart, so you can watch films from streaming platforms. The air conditioners worked flawlessly, which is important, especially if you are traveling in a warmer or colder period.

… Street noise, but within acceptable limits.
When you sleep in a central location in an Italian city, there is always a risk that noise may be a problem. In Meliora Apartments, Liberty20, we could hear some street noise, but it was not as bad as we have experienced in other central locations in Italy.

… A chance to play the piano in the living room.
If you or someone in your group plays the piano, you can create your own pleasant musical background in the apartment.

The takeaway: if you are very sensitive to noise, keep this in mind. But if you are used to central city locations, the noise is more of an expected background than a serious problem.

This is the most serious downside of the apartment. In the living room, there was a rather unpleasant plastic-like smell from the adhesives used for the modern wall panel. The panel itself is interesting, gives the place uniqueness and works well visually, but the smell was noticeable and cannot be left unmentioned.

Fortunately, there was also a more pleasant part in this sensory category – the aroma of coffee in the morning from the capsules kindly left for guests. This is a small but important gesture, especially when you are staying in an apartment and want to start the day without going out immediately.

The biggest downside: the smell from the wall panel in the living room is something the hosts should solve, because otherwise the apartment has many strong points. This is exactly why the rating is not a full 5 hearts.

There was olive oil, balsamic vinegar and sugar in the apartment, but no salt. This is a small thing, but it is one of those practical details you notice exactly when you need it. If you plan to cook or make a salad, check what is available and buy whatever is missing.

Nearby there is a Carrefour Market – Supermarket, Via G. Tiraboschi, 53, 24122 Bergamo BG, Italy. From there, you can buy breakfast food, water, wine, cheese, fruit and everything else you need for your stay.

One of the nicest things about a large apartment is that you can gather with your group around the table. In the morning for breakfast, and why not in the evening too – with a large takeaway pizza or a bottle of wine from the shop, the dining room becomes the natural place for conversations and planning the next day.

The place is also suitable for people who prefer to organize the rhythm of their stay themselves – breakfast in the apartment, morning coffee, free time in the living room and a shared evening around the table.

Yes, I would stay again at Meliora Apartments, Liberty20 if I travel to Bergamo with a group. Its biggest advantage is that it solves many practical problems at once – location, space, bathrooms, kitchen, shared areas and good communication with the host.

I would not choose it for a romantic weekend for two, because for that kind of trip I would look for a more boutique and intimate place. But for a group that wants a convenient base in Bergamo, the apartment is a very strong option.
