I did some research on places to stay in the Naosа area and decided that Palea Poli Deluxe Hotel was where I wanted to stay. Since there are only 9 rooms, it is very difficult to get a reservation, especially if there are events in the area such as winery open houses. Weddings and other celebrations are held in the hotel, and this is often the reason why there are no free rooms.

We went on a wine tour, but thanks to Palea Poli we had even more interesting experiences. Read on to see why.

See Palea Poli

… The hotel is small, with a nice interior, and is housed in a very old building that was a silk factory in the past;

… The rooms are very comfortable, with in retro style, they can keep warm and cool.

Feel Palea Poli

… Very friendly service from the family that owns the hotel – everyone is involved in the business, but not everyone speaks English well. If try to book your stay by the phone, you need to ask for someone who can speak well – the son or daughter of the owner. However, you can easily make a reservation in their system on the website or through the booking.com box, below in this post.

… In general, the restaurant is open every day, but on our last night they were preparing for weekend events and could not cook, they refused to provide us with dishes from the menu. It was surprising and a pity because we wanted to try their cuisine as it was advertised to us a lot. However, we were provided with appetizers and wine – cheese, bruschetta, salad.

… Drinks in the mini bar are free – non-alcoholic and water, but the tap water is very good to drink, we were even told that it is better than the bottled one;

… The owner’s son was very kind and recommended us a very good tavern as well as bars in the city.

Hear Palea Poli

… Some radio with hits in the restaurant – Italian, world, all kinds;

… At this time of the year, there is not much traffic at night in the city and it is very peaceful, but I am not sure that it will be like that again in the summer. Greeks love the night life and travel a lot with motorbikes, so it is possible to hear them buzzing at night.

Smell Palea Poli

… Homemade honey, strawberry jam in the morning for breakfast, fresh coffee.

Taste Palea Poli

… A hearty, but really hearty breakfast – imagine that you have a buffet and you have taken everything and not small doses. First you have a bread roll, sutliash or malebi, several types of bread in a paneer, honey and two types of jam. Then they bring you eggs in any form you want – fried, scrambled, sausages and yellow cheese, pancakes on a roll with nutella and jam, toast with yellow cheese and ham filling, cut into thin strips, yogurt and fruit. There was even granola, if you need to dine healthier, but we did not taste it at all. They make coffee and tea in any form you prefer, and there was also orange juice. The water is from the tap and they bring you as much as you want.

… Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about the dinner in the restaurant. Its name is 1902. All I know is that it has an extensive wine list, they always have cheeses for platters, bruschetta and tomatoes.

We really enjoyed our stay at Palea Poli and would happily stay with them again on a return tour to Naosa as there are still many unvisited wineries left.
