IMPORTANT! During a recent visit, in March 2022, after some thought, I decided to write an update to the review. I don’t usually do that, but I was very disappointed with the service at the restaurant. The waiter was one of those people who thought that if you asked him what wine is available by glass, he could only answer – white and red, and if you asked for details, added- Sauvignon Blanc. I explained that I wanted to know more about the appellation and the cellar, added with annoyance that it was from Puglia and refused all other details. When asked to take the children’s order, he decided that it was more urgent to pour water, after I said twice that we were in a hurry and we wanted the orders to be delivered sooner. He even made a note that we arrived late. And when he asked me if I liked the meatballs, after I explained that they were too al angle for me, he started arguing with me, explaining to me like to a moron that this only applies to steaks. He used to disappear for long periods and we couldn’t order, we had a hard time catching his attention, which hadn’t happened to me for a long time, even in the low level pubs. The rating for FELT category fell sharply to 2 hearts, because of the rudeness of the waiter. I left the 2 hearts because of his colleagues who are trying at their best. I will not visit this restaurant again !!!

After the publications about La Bottega Al Viale, Briciole and Da FMassimo & Fabbio, I continue the series for Italian restaurants in Sofia with a relatively new one, located near the National Palace of Culture – Piatto Collezione. The area definitely needed a nice spot like that. You will no longer wonder where to have dinner before or after a performance at the National Palace of Culture. The restaurant has a small menu, with a selection of dishes within the range of widely accepted popular stuff such as pizza, salads, platters with Italian sausages and cheeses, beef, pork, chicken, fish.

 See ….

…. Very nice interior with beautiful plates on the walls that create style and coziness;

…. Short menu that speaks of good quality;

…. Kitchen visible through a large window.

Feel ….

…. Of all the Italian restaurants described so far in Sofia, this one has the best service – exceptional professionalism, courtesy, attention to detail;

…. Moreover, you can see the chef circulating around the tables to make sure everything is in order.

NOTE! On my last visit, neither of these things happened. The service was very bad !!!

Hear ….

…. Italian pop – very well matched with the atmosphere.

Smell ….

…. Rum, coffee, cocoa in tiramisu – this combination is always irresistible. They serve it in a bowl, scoop with a spoon 😊

…. Add a ristretto to tiramisu to complete the aroma of coffee, even in the evening, it won’t bother you much.

Taste ….

…. Since I’m always looking for the different, what you can’t find elsewhere, here I marked as very tasty the pizza with bacon, radicchio and cheese – Trevigiana;

…. Lovers of offal can try Veal liver in Venetian style, for me personally it is a bit heavy in taste and aroma.

…. Caesar salad is without remarks, as is tiramisu!

I am glad that there is finally a good restaurant near the National Palace of Culture, there is also a tram and metro stop nearby, so if you go for a city walk, you can safely stop at the Piatto Collezione.
