A belated review that dates back to February 2020, before the big closure for Covid-19.

Restaurant Humphrey is named after the legendary American actor from the movie Casablanca, Humphrey Bogart. Ingrid Bergman also stars there with him. If you haven’t seen this film, catch up to have interesting intellectual conversations about cinema. 😊

Restaurant Humphrey is located in the building of the indie record company Pias in Brussels. Meetings and exchange of ideas between sworn music lovers are organized in the next room. In Humphrey you can hear the latest album that Pias have released, and the cuisine is strongly influenced by Filipino culture.

…. The place looks casual, artistic, slightly hipster – the tables are made of rough wood with a natural color;

…. The plate with 13.5 hats out of a total of 20 of the Gault & Millau 2020 gastronomic guide at the entrance;

…. The current menu is divided into 4 sections – small bites, vegetarian, fish and meat…

…. At the beginning, the music was very loud, which was a bit unpleasant, since we couldn’t hear each other with my friend at the table. Besides, strong rap is far from suitable for digestion. I asked the waiter why we listen to such loud rap, they explained that this is the new album that Pias is presenting at the moment, however they reduced the decibels, which was great.

…. Combinations of Eastern spices and products. 

Taste ….

…. Very tasty and exquisite food, both meat and vegetarian – pasta, fish, mussels, rice…;

…. Wonderful wine by the glass;

…. All vegetables are home-grown, this is one of the signatures of the restaurant.

Restaurant Humphrey is a great place with a awesome casual atmosphere and extremely interesting food! Hopefully soon we will be able to travel normally again and visit restaurants without worrying about viruses.
