Eurostars uHotel is a modern and very conveniently located hotel-  right in the heart of Ljubljana, just a few steps from the Old Town and the bohemian area along the Ljubljanica River. It was opened in 1979 as an extension of the iconic Grand Hotel Union, with which it still shares amenities such as a spa center, indoor pool, and fitness facilities.

The best part? Despite its central location, the hotel has its own underground parking – a true rarity in this area. Most nearby hotels either don’t have parking or direct you to look for external options in the vicinity.

It’s a great choice for both tourists and business travelers – combining tranquility, amenities, and a location from which you can literally walk everywhere. Step outside, and within a minute you’re by the river, in a cozy café, or a charming little boutique.

Fun fact: Together with Grand Hotel Union, Eurostars uHotel forms the largest hotel conference complex in Slovenia, hosting hundreds of events every year.

We regularly stay at Eurostars uHotel when traveling by car to Italy and Austria, most often during the winter months. This time, we had the chance to visit in the summer – and liked it even more.

… The rooms look good, the spaces are spacious: however, upon entering, we found the bed sheets not as neatly stretched as we’re used to seeing in hotels – which creates the impression that someone might have sat there before.

Feel in Eurostars uHotel in Ljubljana …

… Convenience of the location and the hotel’s central parking: although there is an underground garage, keep in mind that it fills up quickly during peak season and reservations are not possible. Plan to arrive earlier in the day to get a spot. Otherwise, you’ll need to use a nearby parking lot.

… The shelf on the coat rack next to the room door is poorly placed: as a result, you hit your head on it every time you bend down to pick something up.

… SPA and pool available: make sure to plan ahead and book a spot in advance. I’ve never had time to use them, since I usually stay just one night and prefer to soak in the atmosphere around the river rather than sweat in a sauna.

… The in-room amenities are impersonal – instant coffee and tea, two bottles of water.

… In the morning, the restaurant staff at breakfast can be a bit rushed, as there are a lot of people and everyone wants something.

… Quiet at night with the windows closed: there’s no noticeable traffic noise, but if you open the windows during summer, you’ll catch some noise from the ventilation and air conditioning systems of the surrounding buildings.

… The breakfast in the restaurant smells very appetizing, everything is fresh.

Taste in Eurostars uHotel in Ljubljana …

… Nice and varied breakfast: a large buffet table with everything you could think of. The coffee comes from vending machines. A big plus is the American pancake machine – it makes both kids and adults happy.

I would definitely stay again at Eurostars uHotel in Ljubljana because of the great price/quality ratio, and most of all because of its location and on-site parking.
