After posting a fairly comprehensive list of good restaurants that deliver food to an address, in a previous article Gourmet @home- Part 1, food deliveries in Bulgaria, I decided it was worth testing out how the delivery system works in Sofia and sharing my impressions.
In Gourmet @home– Part 3, food deliveries in Sofia, Bulgaria I described my impressions of Bistrello and L’Instant.
As I’ve already explained in a previous post, each of the establishments described deserves the maximum of 5 hearts from the 5D Sensograph, because of their courage to face the challenge of depriving themselves of their customers, but to find a way to stay close to them and indulge them with delicious food.
So, @home articles are a rating-free zone, which aims to promote and assist all restaurant entrepreneurs who cannot practice their business as usual and maybe face difficulty maintaining it.
In this review, Gourmet @home- Part 4, food deliveries in Sofia, the stars who received maximum hearts are the restaurants Miyabi and Cosmos.
Miyabi @home
5 hearts by the 5D Sensograph of placescases.com were received by Chef Pepi Mihalchev’s team from Myiabi Restaurant for their gourmet food deliveries. As we know, this place is the realm of authentic Japanese cuisine. So, without a plane ticket, just with sticks and a plate, we bounced to the Far East.
See ….
…. Everything looked good in the boxes, part of the top decoration was stuck to the lids, but this was inevitable on delivery;
Hear ….
…. The lady who took my delivery by the phone explained everything I asked about the food because exotic dishes are not very familiar to the general public and need some advice. She assured me that I had selected some of the most iconic dishes on the menu.
Feel ….
…. Really friendly communication by the courier with a customers;
Smell ….
…. Asian spice flavors had exploded into a mouth-watering Asian bouquet.
Taste ….
…. Everything was super tasty;
…. Yakyudon noodles with pork chops and vegetables were an idea more salty, but we enjoyed them with pleasure.
…. Great Savory Japanese Pancake Cake, named Okonomiyaki, with a very thin pork flake, cabbage and onion;
…. Takoiyaki- dough balls with octopus stuffing, topped with mayonnaise and tonkatsu sauce– I really liked them;
…. Exceptional gyoza!
It was delicious and rich in both colors and aromas. Although we couldn’t see it exactly as it was served at the restaurant, it still looked appetizing and beautiful!
Thank you, Miyabi, for your gourmet food deliveries to my home!
You can order Miyabi menu here.
Cosmos @home
Once again, neither for the first, nor for the last time, the 5D Sensograph of placescases.com rated Cosmos with maximum 5 hearts but this time it is for their gourmet food deliveries to my home.
See ….
…. Branded cardboard packaging – great idea. Only the soup was in plastic;
…. Typical of the Cosmos style, nothing looks ordinary – everything is modeled to be beautiful, very appetizing and interesting;
…. The presentation of the lamb, as well as the layout of the drob sarma- it is traditional garnish to lamb meat, made of rice and offal.
Hear ….
…. Super friendly service on telephone – when one likes their job, one transfers that feeling of satisfaction and joy to the customers, albeit with voice only.
Feel ….
…. Everything came warm – there was no need for thermal disinfection at over 70 degrees;
…. We paid with a card, which is a great convenience;
…. We could see that even behind the mask, the courier smiles, he even asked us how we are. Kind human communication is of great importance. To treat the customers as normal people not as wallets is a subtle detail, however very important. It makes difference between the bulk of establishments and those that fall into the Experience Economy category. You can read about this theory by Joseph Pine and James Gilmore in the publication: What is Experience Economy and where can you find best examples in Bulgaria?
Smell ….
… .. A unique turbot soup, with the amazing smell of lovage. This fish soup by Cosmos, took its place in the array of best fish soups, already occupied by Chef’s Live,Sofia and Nemo in Varna.
Taste ….
…. Delicious meatballs, slightly spicy, classically accompanied by lyutenitsa and fresh potatoes;
…. The polenta was mega-tender, with small pork flakes that gave it a slight aroma of toasted bacon, fresh garlic and mushrooms.
Cosmos offers a brunch menu every weekend. Besides, you can already add one of their iconic cocktails to your order from the classic menu. What’s more, you have the option of plating by yourself some of the dishes, under the guidance of video clips on their site.
Every time I write about Cosmos Restaurant, I explain how galactically good place it is in every respect. We now had a piece of their galaxy at home and it was cosmic delicious!
Thank you, Cosmos, for your extremely delicious gourmet food deliveries to my home!
You can order their cosmic menu from here.
Unfortunately, I cannot write about my impressions from restaurants outside Sofia, but I believe that the places listed at Gourmet @home- Part 1, food deliveries in Bulgaria are doing great job, because I personally tested them on the spot and did not come across this blog just by accident, rather were specially selected for it.
Follow placescases.com here or on its social networks pages in Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter to see the articles from the new @home rubric, where I will tell you about my experiences with the delivery of other restaurants that keep servicing their customers, although forced to close doors to them during the Covid 19 pandemic.
