Two-bedroom apartment with three bathrooms at Porta Venezia, Milan
The owners have named their two-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment “Luxury Apartment at Porta Venezia.” I wouldn’t exactly call it luxurious—it’s missing quite a few things to truly deserve that label—but it is very spacious and in a nice location. It’s not close to the city center, at least a 20 to 40-minute walk, but only about 15 minutes from the Duomo by public transport.

See in Two-bedroom apartment at Porta Venezia, Milan …
… Spacious apartment, well furnished. Each room has its own bathroom, including the living room. The bathrooms are equipped with shampoo, towels, and plenty of toilet paper.
… Small pleasant decorations, candles, and other items that add a cozy touch.
Feel in Two-bedroom apartment at Porta Venezia, Milan …
… Despite the unfavorable reviews online, I can confidently say that the stay in this apartment was pleasant and problem-free. Paola, our host, is very responsive and helpful with everything. For example, we hadn’t realized that check-out was at 10 a.m. I wrote to Paola, assuming it was at noon. She allowed us to stay until 12 p.m., even though she was expecting other guests that same day.
… A small detail, which isn’t an issue for families but might be for pairs of friends: to get to the second bedroom, you have to pass through the main one, which is inconvenient if the visitors aren’t family.
… In the main bedroom, the bed creaks a lot, the mattress sags slightly, and the pillows are hard and high.
… We found it difficult to figure out the lighting, which is typical for rental apartments in old buildings in Italy: there are numerous switches, and it took us a while to figure out which one controls what. However, there was a master switch in the living room that turned off all the lights.
… The apartment is equipped with gas hobs, a toaster, a Nespresso coffee maker, an electric kettle, a refrigerator, and a freezer. I would recommend providing better knives for cutting—the ones available are useless for cooking or slicing bread.
… For wine lovers, there are large balloon wine glasses, but there are no proper beer glasses. The water glasses are plastic, which I didn’t particularly like.
… Entering the apartment is easy- just watch the video provided by the hosts before arrival. We were initially puzzled about how to lock the door and had to call Paola. It turned out that the principle is the same as unlocking, except the knob with the code panel is turned in the opposite direction when locking. Essentially, you press the open/close button on the app (everything is explained in the instructions, you just need to read them), and after the beep, turn right to unlock and left to lock.
It’s important to note that smoking is not allowed in the apartment!
… The cleaning lady had left behind some jewelry boxes from previous tenants. Since they hadn’t taken them, there was no need to keep them- it would have been better to throw them away.
… For those who enjoy neighborhoods with a good vibe and plenty of venues, this is exactly the right place. There are many bars nearby, as well as restaurants.
I would recommend the owners provide plug-in mosquito repellents, as the mosquito problem in Milan is quite unpleasant. If you decide to stay in this apartment, bring or buy repellents.
Hear in Two-bedroom apartment at Porta Venezia, Milan …
… Although the neighborhood is lively, we had no issues with noise. While some Google reviews mention a low rating because of a venue below the apartment that supposedly plays loud music until late, I can confidently say this is not the case.
The two establishments directly under the apartment close early and make no noise at all. The bars are further down the street, but the crowd is normal- friendly young people- with no loud music, and everything stays within acceptable limits. If you close the windows, you won’t hear any noise. It’s no more than in any other urban area in Italy, and the window insulation is good.
… If you want to listen to music, I recommend bringing a portable speaker. There is a TV in the living room with channels that include music, and you can also connect your phone to it, but the sound has a delay and reduced quality.

Smell in Two-bedroom apartment at Porta Venezia, Milan …
… The smell of espresso in the morning, thanks to the complimentary capsules and Nespresso machine, right after waking up.
… The apartment has scented candles you can light for a more pleasant atmosphere.
… Tap water in Milan is drinkable, but here it seems to pick up a stale odor from the pipes. I recommend getting mineral water from the nearby supermarket.
Taste in Two-bedroom apartment at Porta Venezia, Milan …
… There are complimentary coffee, tea, and candies, but you’ll still want to stock up on your own supplies. We chose to shop at the Unes supermarket, just two blocks away. It also has a parking lot- free for up to 1 hour, then €7 per hour, or €23 for the day. Keep in mind that the attendant there will ask you to leave your car key and later bring him the receipt from your purchases.
… Right below the apartment, there’s an excellent pizzeria and table-service restaurant with great cuisine and service- Da Ilia. Nearby, there’s also a Michelin-recommended fine dining restaurant. The area is full of Japanese and Arabic restaurants that also look appealing. Many bars serve wonderful cocktails and create a lively atmosphere. I think I even spotted a speakeasy called Barber Bar.
There’s also an LGBTQ bar nearby, Sui Generis, which stands out for its fantastic cocktails, quick service, great music, and good vibes—it became our favorite!
I recommend this two-bedroom apartment in Porta Venezia for its comfort, great location, and the vibrant vibe of the neighborhood.
