See in Gallery 37 …
… Exceptional paintings: I couldn’t stop admiring them.
… Despite the sloped roof on the top floor, the rooms are comfortable and very pleasant: it’s especially nice to sit on the tiny terrace and enjoy the view of Plovdiv’s rooftops. Not all rooms have a terrace, so if you want one, you need to specifically request it when booking.
… The presentation of breakfast: it’s stylishly arranged on large wooden trays.
Feel in Gallery 37 …
Attention to detail at Gallery 37 creates a sense of comfort and casual luxury:
… Despite the absence of a spa, rooms are equipped with robes, slippers, and a full set of toiletries.
… Angled ceilings feature skylights that can be operated with an electric mechanism via a button for opening, closing, and lowering blinds.
… You can order breakfast to be served in your room at no extra charge.
… What’s most impressive is the genuine friendliness of the staff, not from any special training but simply because they are nice. You can chat with them about concerts at the Ancient Theater, music, or the paintings in the rooms.
… Warm and tasty welcome: upon entering your room, you’ll find two handmade chocolate bonbons and a personal message from the manager on the bed.
… Despite being in the Old Town, there is parking available at the Ancient Theater parking lot just 1 minute away. Simply mention your reservation at Gallery 37 at the Old Town barrier, and they’ll allow you to pass through. The receptionist even helped me carry my luggage to the room since there is no elevator.
… The minibar is well-stocked, though the fridge isn’t powerful enough to cool everything adequately. However, if you bring your own bottle, you can ask the staff to store it in the larger fridge.
… Complimentary bottled water, Nescafe 3-in-1, and some tea are provided, but better coffee and tea in the room are available for a small fee o EUR 3.
… The water in Plovdiv is drinkable from the tap.
Even at some places like Ailyakria, they serve tap water upon request, unlike Pavaj, where they insist on Italian water for EUR 5, claiming there’s no filter on their tap. They do use unfiltered ice, though, but that’s not a concern for them obviously.
… The Ancient Theater is a mere 1-minute walk away.
Hear in Gallery 37 …
… Everywhere, even in the rooms, there’s quiet jazz music playing: it’s very pleasant and adds to the artistic atmosphere. However, if you prefer not to listen to it, you can easily stop it using a button in the room.
… In the evening, there’s complete silence around, however after the concert at the Ancient Theater ends.
… In the morning though, you would hear very loud the bell of the nearby church.
Movie-watching time: 2:48 min.
Smell in Gallery 37 …
… If you’re willing to spend an extra 3 lv for branded coffee, the morning can smell delightful in your room: it’s my preferred brand of coffee. In the restaurant, they use a hotel-type machine that makes coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, and more, but it’s not the same. Although they also have a machine of this brand there, I didn’t see anyone using it.
… All the products from breakfast smell fantastic! They are crafted with combinations of aromas that make it festive and rich.
Taste in Gallery 37 …
… It’s worth having breakfast at the hotel: it’s not a buffet, but you order in advance from two options: special and standard. Both are delicious, with special accents. Each option includes juices, fruits, coffee or tea, slices of bread, butter, and melted cheese.
Try their signature breakfast by Chef Moskov, who is the head chef at Coupon. It features very tasty bruschettas made with high-quality, interestingly combined ingredients. At the end, they serve a fresh, warm, freshly-made breaded fillet with homemade jam.
The other option is equally delicious and high-quality. It includes quiche, croissants, eggs prepared in various ways, and more, with no limits on the amount you can order. This option is also worth trying because everything is prepared with style. For example, poached eggs are served with arugula leaves and Parmesan shavings. Nothing here is arbitrary or ordinary.
Staying at Gallery 37 isn’t very cheap, but it’s not as expensive as at the 5-star hotels in the city. It’s worth staying here because the relaxed luxury and comfort are undeniable. I would definitely return. I had a very pleasant experience there!
