…. I nice looking hotel, situated in Kostadinkino village which is more a villa area- many flower pots, paintings on the walls, carpets, nice interior accents, it is obvious that the place was designed with taste and attention to detail;
…. Spacious rooms, big bathrooms, chairs and sofas with leather upholstery – everything looks new and clean;
…. Lavish portions in the restaurant;
…. Quite big pool, plus a small one for the kids – I was told that the small is warm and the big is cold;
…. Nice green lawn around the hotel with sun beds, wonderful view to the broad Sofia plane and Trakia highway.
…. Carrying your luggage upstairs, since there is no elevator, besides no one from the staff offered help, fortunately there are only 2 floors;
…. Family hotel style of service- the manager keeps close contact with guests, deals with any problems and questions and reacts immediately;
…. Soft carpets almost everywhere.
…. Chill-out music in the restaurant like in a SPA;
…. Bird trills when you walk around in the open air;
…. Rumbling noise of Trakia highway when you are out.
…. Very unpleasant sewage stink in the lobby, however when it is aerated the stink disappears.
…. Good food in the restaurant with no demands for gourmet and originality but tasty, made with good products and looking tempting;
…. Breakfast buffet, consisting of 2 types of charcuterie, 4 types of cheese, boiled and scrambled eggs, roasted sausage, tea, filtered coffee, fruit, yogurt and cereals;
…. Salads with fine balanced dressing- lavish and delicious;
…. Schnitzel – lean meat with crispy batter, served with butter and lemon on top and nice French fries on the side;
…. Chicken soup- favorite to our kids, tasty and substantial;
…. Nice looking glazed chicken wings – another hit for the kids;
…. Crème brulee, unfortunately made of read-made substance but with nice caramel crust and not bad in taste, although my elder daughter, who is an expert, refused to eat it.
Villa Ekaterina is situated in Kostadinkino village which is more a villa area now, located 40 km away from Sofia. It is very convenient for a weekend rest especially with a nice group of friends. The kids are feeling free and comfortably there, the pool is their favorite attraction, the walks out in the green are very pleasant and energizing.
You have to bring your hair dryer, personal cosmetics, shower cap and ear swabs if you use such things. The hotel room offers two plain shower gels, a little soap, bath robes and slippers.
The hotel offers 19 rooms- double rooms, studios and apartments, distributed in the main building and several villas. It costs EUR 75 for a stay in the apartment, EUR 65 in a studio and EUR 50 in a double room. The apartments and the studios are equipped with foldable sofas, accommodating max 2 additional persons. A stay of a child costs extra EUR 5 and of an additional adult – EUR 7.5.
There is free Wi-Fi in the hotel.
The place is very popular as an event celebration venue for anniversaries, weddings, business events of any type.
I would recommend a vacational stay at Villa Ekaterina for 2 or 3 nights max, otherwise you may get bored if you stay longer.
