It is worth a stroll or stay at Chateau Des Vigiers, not only if you are a golfer, because the place has a great course, but also just for walking around and eating al fresco in the garden of the bistro. The chef of the complex is a student of Alain Ducas, his name is Didier Casaguana and under his leadership is not only the bistro, but also the restaurant at the chateau, which got a Michelin star this year.

…. Wonderful view from the terrace to the golf course and the lake;

…. The chateau dates back to the 17th century and resembles Versailles in Paris. It turns out that’s what they call it – little Versailles;

…. The bistro is located in the old cellar of the palace and is an interesting combination of antique style with joists on the ceiling, wooden floors and art deco furniture and decorations.

Feel ….

…. Nice service, a little slow, but we came at rush hour when all the old ladies and gentlemen were resting from golf and wanted to have lunch urgently. But at one point they all got up and somehow things went on smoothly and the service became better.

Hear ….

…. I didn’t know if there was music outside, but we listened to the birds around and it was wonderful.

…. Aroma of mango and pineapple in dessert with mango sorbet, meringue on pineapple pieces;

…. Wine, a must!

Taste ….

…. A wonderful terrine of foie gras, which they prepare according to a special recipe – the best I have tried in the Bordeaux region;

…. Nice fish, the others praised a lot the omelets. It seems that there is no mediocre dish here, everyone bragged that food was delicious.

Chateau Des Vigiers  is very close to Bergerac, so you do not have to stay right there to play golf, walk around, eat from the delicious cuisine of the restaurant and bistro or visit the SPA, which works with Sothys cosmetics.
