See ….
…. The place has a very nice modern style and most importantly is cozy;
…. Apartment Encre de Chine has 2 comfortable bedrooms, a closet, a toilet with a sink, separate from the bathroom, which is located on the top floor, with a dormer, a spacious shower, 2 sinks and a bathtub;
Encre de Chine means Chinese ink. The design of the wall in one of the bedrooms is blue watercolor ethereal waves or hills – however you wans to perceive it, in the other the wall is blue.
It was strange that the room with the bedroom is smaller than the one with the separate beds, but this was no problem for us.
…. On the ground floor there are common rooms for all guests, as is typical for this type of accommodation – a large living room with a large TV, espresso machine, which is a compliment to guests. Again on the ground floor is the kitchen, extremely well equipped, toilet, dining room where breakfast is served, for those who wished to have, with a large table, a small yard with a table and four chairs to it. All rooms are comfortable, with nice design, paintings, interesting lanterns, very nice!
…. If you are wondering how to recognize the entrance to the house, as there is no inscription, look for number 27 and a large bright blue door.
Feel ….
…. We did not meet with the hosts, because the access is through a code on the front door, and the key is received from a box, which is also opened with a code sent in advance by e-mail.
… .Check-in is very late – only at 4 pm, and check-out at 10 am. Also, there is no possibility to store luggage if these hours are not convenient for you, because there is no staff to do it. We met only one maid, and we only saw her when she came to clean;
…. I hasten to point out that the rooms are cleaned every day, most unexpectedly for me for a guest house;
…. Because access is complicated, before you arrive they send you 2 files with detailed information on how to use the equipment, basic rules and access codes.
I was sent everything in French and I got lost in the huge text and instructions, because this is not the language I speak. I asked to be sent in English and received only the access instructions. I read a lot until I got what I need to do to enter the house and the suite. But then I noticed that other guests, who were coming to check in, were entering and getting quite puzzled how to find their keys.
2 halves are dropped due to the inconvenient hours for check-in and check-out, as well as the automatic sending of complex and difficult to understand instructions in a language incomprehensible to customers, which is an omission. Since all correspondence is in English only, there is no point in sending long texts in French.
Otherwise, as incomprehensible as access may seem at first glance, and this definitely creates stress before accommodating customers, when you go on site and read the instructions more carefully, things work out. I would recommend sending a link to a video tutorial or at least including photos to the text, so it will reduce the stress of customers related to entry.
Hear ….
…. It is quiet in suite Encre de Chine apartment, but all its windows face the courtyard instead of the street and this is a serious factor in the silence;
…. Music apps can be opened on the large TV in the living room, so you can have a nice relax with friends, with jazz and good wine.
Movie watching time: 2:20 min.
Smell ….
…. The espresso is offered as a compliment for the guests and is in capsules, respectively the qualities are guaranteed according to the expectations created on their packaging;
…. Soaps and shower gels, with a light and pleasant aroma, imported from Singapore, which impressed me.
Taste ….
…. We hadn’t ordered breakfast because we wanted to experiment with the boulangeries and bistros around.
Boulangerie in French is a bakery that sells bread and croissants. Patisserie is the same, but enriched with a variety of pastries.
And with this variety of delicious things every step of the way in the city, we just decided that we would indulge in our momentary urge to sit somewhere outside with a view and have breakfast.
I would be happy to stay again at the Maison de Manege, if I have a trip to Bordeaux, I recommend it strongly, we really liked it! And read the login instructions carefully.
