Das Landhaus Prägant Appartments

Das Landhaus Prägant Apartments, with a key position near the SPA and cable car station, Bad Kleinkirchheim

With the key location, the advantages of staying in the family hotel Das Landhaus Prägant Apartments are far from exhausted. The hotel has a large enough parking lot, a place to store skis, boots, and other winter equipment, and a bunch of other amenities.

We chose to book with it at the last minute, literally a month before the trip and before the Christmas holidays, due to a sudden change in our skiing plans, but we were very lucky.

See in Das Landhaus Prägant Apartments  …

… The hotel is housed in a 100-year-old 4-storey house: the owners keep it in very good condition and talk about it with pride.

… Christmas decoration in the common areas: the hosts have created a very festive atmosphere.

… Light wood and old vintage furniture in the Austrian style in the interior: it gives a special charm, authenticity, and coziness.

… View of the slopes and the gondola from one of the apartments on the 3rd floor: you can watch when the line starts to form in the morning, watch the skiers during the day, and in the evening the lights of the snow grooming machines on the slopes.

Feel in Das Landhaus Prägant Apartments

… Super cool hosts: Matthias is a great host. His main work is photography, he is a cameraman and shoots films. But because his profession gives him flexibility, he manages the hotel quite well, with the help of his mother. He is very responsive and helped us with everything from ski pass information to restaurant reservations. When we left, Matthias wrote to us on the way that we had forgotten medicine in the fridge. He arranged to send it to us by courier, taking care of the proper packaging to keep it cool as per the requirements for the medicine. And you can often meet his mother in the common room or on the stairs. She is always smiling and asking how you are. She had made Christmas cookies and treated us to them. They were very tasty!

… The proximity to the gondola and the Römerbad thermal baths is a huge advantage: literally 400m away. The lower station of the cabin and the thermal baths are next to each other and are even run by the same family. You can get there with ski boots. But if you don’t like hauling equipment, the Keiserburgbahn gondola has a parking area. You just have to go in time, because it fills up and they refer you to the other, larger parking lot, which is a stone’s throw away from the lower station of the lift. If you have to park on it, it is faster and easier to go down straight from the hotel with your ski boots to the gondola.

… The comfort of feeling at home: which is especially valuable if you feel Christmas as a chance to spend more quality time with your family. Moreover, the apartment is equipped with everything – a microwave oven, a kettle for heating water, 2 types of coffee makers, one for espresso, the other for filter coffee, induction hobs, pots, plates, glasses, a frying pan, and knives. The only thing missing was a toaster and a regular oven, but since we didn’t need to cook, the oven wasn’t a problem for us. After 2-3 days, they offer you to change the towels, to get you missing household consumables. There is a washing machine for common use on one of the mezzanines, so you can wash your ski clothes.

… The rooms are warm as per your adjustment of the temperature: unlike other Austrian hotels, we have been to, where the heating is turned off during the day and then at night, as a result of which it gets cold at some point, here we haven’t been cold for a moment.

… Possibility of online pre-registration: hi-tech solutions are not 1 and 2, besides this convenient way to register, you have very good free wi-fi, you can communicate with the owner at any time on WatsApp, he answers immediately, in the rooms there is a smart TV on which you can watch your favorite movies and series on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Disney+. So, we weren’t short of Christmas movies this period. .

Hear in Das Landhaus Prägant Apartments

Smell and taste in Das Landhaus Prägant Apartments

… Morning coffee and freshly baked bread rolls: you can order coffee capsules from Matthias. They cost EUR 0.60 each. The price is the same for bread rolls. The day before, you have to decide how many loaves of bread to deliver to you and order them. They bake them in the morning and deliver them to you between 7:30-8:00 a.m., in a bag that they hang on the door handle. Then you also leave the empty bag there, and so on every day until you cancel the delivery or change the number of bread rolls. There are 2 types of loaves – round white or whole grain oblong.

… In the well-equipped kitchen, you can cook if you want: There is a SPAR and Billa nearby, the two stores are next to each other with large car parks so shopping is easy. We chose the first one. It’s pretty well stocked. We emphasized the nice sausages, cheeses, and wine. Of course, there are all kinds of organic agricultural products, so we didn’t lack fruits and vegetables. If you wonder which sausages or cheeses to buy, you can ask the sellers for advice. They speak good English, also Italian, they are very responsive and will recommend you great things.

In Austria, there is a decent sparkling wine, Schlumberger, but the store also has prosecco, Champagne, etc. From the local white varieties, I highly recommend Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Gelber Muskateller, and Gemischter Satz, from the reds Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch. Feel free to experiment, Austria is traditionally a good producer of wine. Whatever white wine you get from Wachau, Kamptal, and Kremstal is still good.

There are quite a few good restaurants nearby, even within walking distance, and a kilometer or so, 3 minutes by car, there is even a fine dining restaurant, for which there is also a post prepared.

So if you want to feel at home, to be close to the ski slopes and the thermal baths, with the disclosure that you will walk a few hundred meters, I recommend you try Das Landhaus Prägant Apartments.
