The Museum of Illusions in Sofia, where everyone becomes a child

Are illusions good or bad? You will say “It depends”. That’s right. But sometimes we humans need them very much. Not just figuratively, to comfort ourselves when something doesn’t go the way we want it to and we prefer to deceive ourselves. Illusions are part of our cognitive function. Our brain is so structured that when pieces of information are missing, it fills them in with patterns already built in it. And that helps us survive in everyday life.

Such are the tricks in the exhibits of the Museum of Illusions in Sofia. It is fun and entertaining for young and old. We all rejoice in the strange broken reality in it. In this place, illusions are definitely something nice, very entertaining, aesthetic, educational and escapist. A real example of the Experience Economy.

See a few examples in the video.

Move watching time 1:53 min.

It is worth going and spending from 30 minutes to 1 hour there alone, with children, as it comes.

The fee is higher than other museums, but comparable to other entertainment such as cinema, theater and others.
