In place of the former Radisson Hotel in Sofia, there is now InterContinental Hotel. I recently mentioned this chain in a review for the Crowne Plaza-Le Palace hotel in Brussels, which is also part of it.

Floret is located on the ground floor of the hotel. There is a separate entrance, but you can also enter from the central one. The lobby has been transformed and has a very beautiful statue, which you can see in the video below.

See ….

…. Small menu with exquisite suggestions;

…. Pleasant interior, without being intrusive, rather very lean, but also very stylish;

… Grand piano in the middle of the hall;

…. There is a disinfectant on each table, which on top of everything is placed in a very stylish glass dispenser.

Feel ….

…. A sense of luxury with finesse (without ostentation and intrusiveness) in every detail – interior, plating, music, service, attitude, food quality, even the design of the toilet. There, in addition to being an impressive water spout, there is also a hand lotion in addition to the liquid soap;

…. Wine by glass is available. They opened a new bottle in front of me.

…. Very polite service, the waiter was wearing a mask, tightly covering the nose, which is very rare in most places. If you are interested in any detail about the food and he does not know it, he will definitely ask and give you the info.

Hear ….

…. Very nice music, different arrangements of famous songs.

Movie watching time: 1:59 min.

Smell ….

…. Aroma of roses in the Entremet dessert with white chocolate, rose water, raspberries, hazelnut praline and rose wine ice cream. A good solution to present Bulgaria to foreign guests of the hotel.

A similar approach, only in a cocktail, was used in the rooftop bar of hotel Hyatt in Sofia, which I wrote about in The Scene Rooftop Bar & Terrace is the VIP box, and the stage is Sofia.

Chef Georgi Boykovski, while still in restaurant Cosmos, had made a dessert Bulgarian rose, with meringue, which had the shape, color and aroma of rose Damascene. Now in his newest restaurant, Gotvarnitsa, meaning Cookery, he has developed the 9th version of his dessert, only this time he has intertwined the traditional Bulgarian breakfast, popara, into the idea. See and read more in Gotvarnitsa – the gastronomic gallery of chef Georgi Boykovski and chef Velin Velikov.

Why the rose is a symbol of Bulgaria read in A short guide for the modern visitor in Kazanlak, the capital of the Valley of Roses, Bulgaria – Part 1 and Part 2.

Taste ….

…. Homemade bread as the beginning of the lunch;

…. Pasta for the day – in this case it was spaghetti with salmon, zucchini and cream – great!

…. The tempura shrimps and the club sandwich was highly appreciated by the children;

…. Pork chop with home-made barbecue sauce, extremely well balanced in taste, aroma, roasting;

…. Only the blanched french fries to it and the club sandwich do not correspond the high level of the other products. I personally highly recommended fresh french fries. Half a heart fell out because of them.

Floret is an extremely nice place, bar & restaurant type, in the center of Sofia. You can take a walk on a Sunday morning to the National Art Gallery in Sofia, then through the garden at Crystal, and then a little further to the parliament, and finally you can sit in the early afternoon in Floret, behind the statue of Tsar Osvoboditel, just then the sun shines on the terrace and the restaurant inside to make you feel relaxed and blissful.
