GRAPE CENTRAL – THE LARGEST VARIETY OF WINE BY BOTTLE AND GLASS IN THE CENTER OF SOFIA, BULGARIA

…. Very good and ingenious interior – a huge lamp with stained glass, build in the floor glass display with bottles inside, a cask, oars on the walls, wooden ladder and expectedly many shelves with wine.
…. Amiable service not only by the waiters but also personally by the owner Yana;
…. Yana’s self-confidence and eloquence when she talks about wine and the rest of the drinks in her place- thas girl really likes her job!
…. Smooth jazz in unison with the interior.
…. The smell of truffles in the tagliatelle with beef ragout and parmigiana – those were one of a kind, my daughter loved them;
…. Varied flavors of different wines, which you can try by glass- there is no other place that offers so many different kinds of wine by glass, moreover, of high quality!
…. Waldorf salad– iceberg, invigorated with sweet apple, spicy playful celery, dried plum, and to add splendor- roasted walnut – wonderful!
…. Red lentils hummus, it is served with bread chips and a small pot with olive oil with a little red chili peppers paste on the bottom- spread hummus on the bread, splash a few drops of oil with a little chili and enjoy your gusto!
…. Parmigiana crackers, prosciutto from Elena town, marinated in wine fig and red pesto, containing a bouquet of almond, chocolate and tomato- spread some pesto on your cracker, bite a piece of the prosciutto and a piece of fig. Drink some white wine La Combe Pilate, M. Chaputier and you don’t need anything else!
…. Black sea mussels, steamed with wine, supplied by a small farm near Sozopol, dressed with a wonderful sauce, but I will not reveal to you the secret recipe, although they gave it to me 😊;
…. With the mussels I tried rose wine from Minkov Brothers Jamais Vu, 2015, with score 5 in Vivino and it is really good;
…. Kebab made of fine minced meat with cashew, ahchak (which is a paste made of squeezed sheep yogurt), basmati rice and peppers cream– wow , that was so delicious, so tender and great!
…. For the kebab I chose red wine Grenache и Syrah- Marrenon Capella Ventoux 2014. In Vivino it was rated with 4.8, and it covers the score;
With all those delicious meals I could not resist the desserts
…. I was recommended to try something which was made of cake sponge, soaked with marsala, raspberry parfait on top and then white chocolate parfait. I ate it all with gusto and a shot of raspberry rakia from Serbia.
If you want to try new, different wines with good cuisine, your place is Grape Central. This year they won the Bacchus Magazine award for Best Drinks Selection. It is obvious why!
It is pleasant at Grape Central, like visiting an old friend, cozy, tasty, you wish to come back again. I will do it for sure! Yana is very cool and she will tell you all you need to know about wine, she will open a bottle for you, even if the wine is not offered yet by glass… Well, you are welcome there big time!
I liked Grape Central very much and I recommend it to all wine and good food fans!
