To Pigadi means Well in Greek. It is located on a small street, just opposite the restaurant of Avli Suites where we were staying. It invites you with its beautiful turquoise tablecloths and the small stylishly decorated yard.
See ….
…. They emphasized turquoise, which is my favorite;
…. The menu is advertised as creative Cretan cuisine and perhaps is so.
Feel ….
…. In the afternoon at 4 pm there are no people and they serve quickly;
…. At this hour it is also warm, there are fans in the yard, stirring the air, but it is still warm.
Hear ….
…. The cicadas are screaming in this heat and you don’t need any other music..
Movie watching time: 1:07 min.
Smell ….
…. Cinnamon in bolognese sauce in children’s pasta – it’s great!
…. Fine exotic aroma of black sesame in the souffle with white chocolate and coffee in the ice cream to it – a wonderful combination, especially with the smell of vanilla and chocolate!
Taste ….
…. Here is offered a Cretan style rooster, stewed in white wine of the Liatiko variety, and is something like taco. There is a traditional dip of fresh anthotiro cheese on the side. It is very tasty, slightly spicy – wonderful!
…. Combine your pasta or rooster with a glass of rose variety Kotsifali.
I have already written about the local varieties in the publication Stavros Taverna- Greek cuisine with Cretan style in the old town of Rethymno.
…. Dessert souffle with white school – oh how delicious !!!
…. Of course, there are fresh, very sweet fruits and Tsikudсa as a compliment.
You can read about the latter in more detail in Erotokritos – a nice fish restaurant, at the end of the marina in Rethymno, also in Stavros Taverna- Greek cuisine with Cretan style in the old town of Rethymno.
I recommend To Pigadi, especially for such a late lunch or early dinner, when there are not many people in the small streets of Rethymno, because its tranquillity is especially pleasant in these lazy hours.
